Question

Best way to create a designed template for a business card? (Currently given Color Profile error)

Currently, I've made a master AI file which is a template for everyone's business card, containing every repeated identical element across all cards, for example the background, logo etc.

For everyone's individual card, I then link the master AI template file through File > Place, then have all details for that individual on top.

This works well except, for some reason, an error message pops up saying:

The document's embedded color profile does not match the current CMYK working space. The document's colors will be converted to the working space.

Embedded: Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2:2004)

Working: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2

Any tips are gratefully appreciated!

Don't embed the color profile when saving.

You don't want CMYK colors to be changed.

Also: adjust your color management to the secure CMYK workflow (don't convert to profile)

Please read the documentation about color management, because you will need to learn this. No desktop publishing app works without color management and errors in handling it are expensive.
