Blank Home Screen, Save As and New Not Working

Since the CrowdStrike outage, I've had a blank screen upon opening Illustrator and have been unable to get a dialogue box to open when I click "Save As" or Ctrl+Shift+S, or "New" or Ctrl+N. I uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator, and tried going back to a previous version of Illustrator with no improvement. Has anyone else run into a similar issue and found a fix? Windows 11, Illustrator 28.6.

As far as I can tell, I haven't installed any new fonts recently, and I've only activated fonts from within Adobe. I also tried renaming the UXP folder under Roaming.

My current workaround is save as a copy and new artboards.

Sounds good! It looks like our IT person isn't in the office at the moment. When he's back in, I'll ask him to try it exactly as described in that thread. In the meantime, if you can think of any other things that might work, I can try those.

I found someone with the admin log in, and after the renaming of that folder + a restart of my computer, Illustrator is working correctly again! Thank you!!!!

Further down in this thread is a post about UXP. Can you try that: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/illustrator-opens-with-blank-window/td-p/9227237

Hey! Thank you for the suggestion - does it need to be the UXP folder under Common Files? I already tried renaming the one in Roaming and that didn't work. I ask because it's my work computer. I tried renaming the one in Common Files and it asked me to grab an administrator, meaning I'd need to get someone from IT to do it. I'm trying to avoid that unless it is the only thing that could possibly work.

You need to do it exactly as described.
