Blend tool coloring outside the selected shapes

Question

The blend tool has done a pretty good job of blending my ombre shape, but it colored outside the shape lines in a triangular pizza-like shape. How do I erase the pizza-like shape?

​@lindseyw13If you use the blend tool, you create a certain number of objects. More objects create a smother blend.Check the Blend options and see if increasing the number of objects helps.Or if it is about blending colours, a(Freeform) Gradient may be a better option.
