Blend Tool Not Working

Hello,

My blend tool is swapping smooth color and specified steps (see photos for reference). I'm not finding anyone else in the community having this issue. I've updated illustrator to 27.4 and restarted my computer. If anyone can offer any help, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

If 2 objects have the same fill/stroke it will default to smooth. You can set this option for selected objects before creating the blend.
