Trying to create something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4-CGXwV9E4

It worked before but suddenly doesn't work and I have to create outlines which is really annoying and I'm trying to do my work.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing with Blending in Illustrator. I am hopeful that the issue is resolved by now. If not, please take look at this small GIF for the step by step workflow.

If it doesn't work, let's resolve it on a one to one session. Please head here (https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html) and select the chat button in the lower-right corner of the page. We can help troubleshoot faster that way.

Regards,

Srishti

If things don't work the way they used (or are supposed) to work, it may be time to reset Preferences:

Doesn't work, can upload another video. When I press blend on the text nothing happens.

I did not even use the Blend Tool. I just selected the 3 text objects and chose Object > Blend > Make

If I understand correctly:

1. Release the blend.

2. Go to the Layers panel (Window menu > Layers).

3. Click the disclosure arrow to the left of the Layer thumbnail.

4. Drag the revealed type objects into the correct front-to-back (top-to-bottom) order.

5. Make Blend.

In your video above it worked. So I'm confused what exactly does or doesn't work.

After you follow Kalunuwu's tutorial.

Use "Group Selection Tool" to move type.
(Use Point Type)

Set your type as point text, not area text.
Point - click once and let go (sets in a line of type)
Area text - click & drag a container (constrains tyep to size of container)
