Blob brush issue

I'm having some issues with the blob brush. I selected the color of the fill with nothing for the stroke. I started coloring in an object. However, halfway through coloring, the blob brush setting flipped where the fill has nothing and the stroke has the color of the fill. Everytime I try to switch back, it flips around between the color of the fill vs. no color for the stroke. Is this a bug? I can't figure out how to fix this.

The blob brush, though it creates filled objects, uses the active stroke colour.

I figured that. The issue I'm having even if I select the stroke color, it keeps switching to no color when I start coloring.

The stroke changes to no colour?

You initially said:

Which is what I would expect to happen. If there is a fill but no stroke colour, the stroke will inherit the fill colour and the blob brush will draw with that. The fill will show as empty.
