Bought a file to use for a project, blending modes/transparency is messed up after opening

Sorry for horribly worded title, I'm having a hard time putting this into words.


This is what the file should look like:

 

 

But after opening in illustrator looks like this:

 

Any ideas on how to fix it? I assume its with the blending/transparency but its just a guess.

This file will not work in CMYK color mode.

You can only open it as an RGB file.

Export it at the desired size to a pixel file format

Open it in Photoshop and convert to CMYK, adjust contrast etc.

Place in your CMYK file.
