Broken curves with Pen tool

I have the Mid 2017 Macbook Pro and sometimes when I use the pen tool over an image the line gets glitchy. Parts of curved lines areall choppy and flicker on and off when I zoom or pan. I was able to fix this by disabling my GPU but that makes the overall experience not very enjoyable. Is there a work around or is this just a bug?
