Question

Brush pressure option is grayed out on Illustrator 2019 on Windows 10 System

Hi Adobe family!

I have seen this question asked constantly all over the internet but can't find a fix that works for me. My pen pressure works perfectly in Photoshop but Illustrator won't let me choose pressure as an option when creating a calligraphy brush (same applies for blob brush and standard stroke brush). Illustrator also doesn't recognize the eraser end of my pen (this does work in Photoshop.)

My set up:

  • Wacom Cintiq 22HD (latest driver 6.3.34-3)
  • Windows 10 Laptop
  • Illustrator CC 23.0.3

I have tried:

  • Restarting my computer
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling illustrator
  • Resetting illustrator preferences
  • Resetting pen preferences
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling pen and tablet driver
  • Installed an older version of Illustrator (that I know used to work fine)

None of this has fixed the issue, I don't know what else to do!

Any help would be so appreciated! Happy to provide more details if needed.

Jess

You probably fixed this but if not…I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled WacomTablet_6.3.31-6…and it worked. You might have to try a few different ones to get it. Good luck
