Question

[BUG] Clipping mask causes cursor drag and momentarily prevents further actions.

Hey. I just updated to MACOS Sonoma, and noticed Illustrator being weird with clipping masks.
I'm also on the most recent version of Illustrator.
Now when I make clipping masks. I can see the smart guides cursor dragging to catch up (see attached video) and then until the cursor catches up I can't make any other changes like moving the art or even selecting something else.
I checked to see if anything had changed in my settings but it doesn't look like it did.

Hello @Kyle25599063f0ik,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind checking if Illustrator behaves this way with all files? If yes, kindly try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hello.
Yes it does still do it on other files. As well as in safe mode.
I tried it on a seperate MAC with an older OS and the same file didn't have any issues despite being the same Ver of Ai. I probably won't be able to try a different Admin on the same computer as I am not the SysAdmin.
I've also noticed it seems to bottleneck on some files at times. where I'll make a change and it hangs for a second or two before being able to make changes.
