Bug? Zooming in moves selected object

Hello there,

I experience one super annoying problem quite often in Illustrator:

When I zoom in (Ctrl + "+") with an object or several selected, the object is moved just a little bit to the right. It is exactly as if I used the arrow right key.

Does anyone else have that problem or is that due to my laptop?

This is really dangerous as I need to be extra aware when finalizing print data.

Hi,

this is what I understand.

As long as I used MAC I never had any problems. I switched to windows and noticed this problem which is causing me serious problems (I create packaging and often 1mm makes the difference between a perfect project and a wrong one).

I found these two solutions.
1 - use a full keyboard with number pad. Use Ctrl + "+" or Ctrl + "-" (use "+" or "-" of the numer pad) this works well form me

2 - Use Ctrl + "+" or Ctrl + "-" but hold down ctrl half a second longer after releasing + or -. For me using this solution solve the problem.

I see that you use LENOVO with Wacom. Same here.... Maybe is a Lenovo keybord incompatibility?

Hi @Marina303696150zau,

I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing. To better assist you, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Operating system and version of Illustrator
  • When did this issue start occurring? Did it begin after installing the latest version?
  • Is the issue specific to a particular file?
  • Does turning off GPU performance help? (You can do this by going to Preferences (CTRL/CMD + K) > Performance > Uncheck GPU Performance)

We're here to help and just need a bit more information to assist you effectively.

Regards,

Srishti

Do you see the object XY coordinates change in the Transform or Control panel?

Hi Ton,

I will try and focus on that. I have lots of files to try that the next days and will reply asap.

As a matter of fact the objects move. It is not just a question of display.

For example I got a file back from the printer to fix a (slightly) displaced layer.
