Just to share a bit more context, Illustrator's auto-recovery files are only temporary and are usually removed once you reopen and save the document after a crash or update. @Milu_Mariani3952 from my understanding, once you successfully open and save a file from the automatic recovery prompt, the temporary recovery file is likely gone.  The backup files you are looking for are not permanent files; they are temporary files that Illustrator uses to rebuild your work after a crash. You can find the path to this folder in your Illustrator preferences. Go to Edit > Preferences > File Handling & Clipboard (PC) or Illustrator > Preferences > File Handling (MAC). Look in the Data Recovery section. Next to the checkbox for "Automatically Save Recovery Data Every..." there is a "Folder" button. Click on it. This will open your file explorer directly to the folder where Illustrator was saving those 30-second backups.
