Cadgis to pdf to illustrator to dwg

Hello all,

As posted in the title, i'm trying to get a part of cadgis (the Belgian urban planning tool) into sketchup to make a 3D model.

I've pdf'd a part the part of cadgis i needed. Then loaded the pdf into illustrator, removed all clipping masks and groupings, and copied the lines i needed to a new file to get a clean drawing to export to dwg.

The problem is when i load this into sketchup and explode everything all the shapes from buildings and plots are surrounded with a double line. These should be singular.

I tried rasterizing the shapes and retracing using the lines setting without succes. Can anyone help me with this?

''rasterizing and then retracing''

No, that's not going to turn out good.

cadgis? what kind of file can it export.

Maybe a better workflow:

a shapefile (.shp) to software  like  QGIS or  Esri ArcGIS.

Then save as .dwg or .dxf

and open that in SketchUp

A mapping forum might provide better help

or sketchup

Are the lines single lines when they are in Illustrator before you load them into sketchup? Is it possible that in Illustrator they are actually filled rectangles that appear to be lines?

They are indeed rectangles in illustrator. I'm trying to reduce that to one. That's why i tried rasterizing and then retracing, but that didn't gave good results.
