Can I Recover A Deleted Unsaved Illustrator File

So I deleted a project I was working on before I saved it there was no crash. I thought I was closing another unimportant file that I didn't need, am I screwed?

P.S. couldn't find this problem in forum, sorry if pertinent thread available.

If you can't remember to save files, try the plugin Autosaviour. Even the free version will remind you to save your file. And once saved will make backups regularly.

You need to set it up accordingly!

Get into the habit of pressing cmd/ctrl + S. This would have forced you to save the document.

You mean you started a new document, worked on it, then closed it without saving? I don't think there is a recovery method for that.

Use your backups. If you don't have any, use this as an opportunity to understand why not, and change how you work... No, I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but perhaps a change will save you in future (we all close the wrong file sometimes).
