Hi was wondering if someone can help or if you all have exprenced this in the past. My illustrator is freaking out. I have an .ai file with text I can see it in the artfile when i'm working on it but when I save and preview in the apple finder/viewe I cant see the text at all. I have the most recent version of illustration even uninstalled and re-added to see if it'll help. nothing. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I was able to figure it out — the issue wasn’t with my workflow or description, but with the Illustrator file itself. It turns out the original text layer had some hidden corruption, which was preventing Finder from generating a proper preview, even though the text looked fine inside Illustrator.

I copied the text into a clean new layer, resaved, and the preview now displays correctly.

I'm not sure what you mean by previewing it in the Apple Finder. Are you clicking on the closed file while holding the spacebar which is how to show an image of a file when its not actually open? Is that what you mean by previewing the file? Or are you referring to opening the .ai file with the Apple program Preview? Please be specific as to what you're actually doing. Also if you're able to see the file correctly in illustrator itself why are you saying that Illustrator is freaking out. The more information that you provide—including the exact version of Illustrator and operating system—the better chance that someone in the forum can help.
