Which version of Illustrator are you using? What operating system?

Do you get a specific warning message when you try to assign your shortcut?

Hi, I get no feedback whatsoever, it just doesn't do anything. As if I wasn't typing at all. I can assign any other number with ease, except for 0 or 9 in the top row numbers. Assigning numbers in the keypad is doable, but the hot keys don't work with them, they don't do anything. I have always used 0 and 9 to bring to front and send to back commands, but now I can't.
