Can't finish previewing. There isn't enough memory

I get this error message every once and a while when it changes to outlines and I try to switch back to preview mode. I just added 16gb to my hard drive this month so there should be any issue of memory space on my computer. Help Please!

    Hello everyone I have the same problem too, for a week i could not do anything in Adobe. In my case the decision is to update the video drivers(I updeted all drivers too). I hope my decision will be usefull for you. Sorry  for my English

    i am having the same problem, it randomly pops up and I have an imac with 32gb RAM, what can we do about this, because all that any forums can tell me is to upgrade but i dont need to I had a macbook pro 17" for 5 years with 16gb RAM and never had this problem the only difference is that I was not using the adobe cloud.

    This is NOT the correct answer. As I have never seen this error until 2017 installed. Now I am stuck not getting work done.

    You want to either post exact specifications of your machine (and better create your own thread for it) and exact contents of the file

    Or contact support. Weekend is near, so you might want to hurry up with that.

    Have faced same error, i would suggest a not so professional solution for this problem.

    Reduce the artwork size to very low and try completing the work.

      I'm about to start a job placement at a design agency and am desperately trying to refine some of my work before I start. Illustrator is essential in this. I'm busy making everything proportionate, scaled just right, aligned, adding details when suddenly I'm tripping, stumbling and colliding face-first with this thing of beauty:

        I still have the issue, while working on extremely simplistic files.

          I'm on a PC here but experienced the same problems.

          Trashed my preferences under "c:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator\Adobe Illustrator 19Settings\en_US\x64\Adobe Illustrator Prefs"

          & the files open up fine.

          this issue has been occurring with 19.2.1 as everyone has reported, adobe should be fully aware of this and need to focus on getting a solution out. sounds like adobe are trying to stall for time while they attempt a solution.

          Hi everyone!

          I just chatted with an Adobe representative and they mentioned this is a current bug that they are working on to fix - unfortunately there is no specific fix that we as consumers can do. However, he mentioned downgrading your version to the previous version and there wouldn't be a bug in that version. I know it is not ideal to have to downgrade but it will at least get rid of this possibility of losing artwork to this option as well as get rid of that annoying message. I am downgrading!           I've had this problem arise 4 times today. After reading several of these I hit cmd+y and the problem was fixed. I don't think this is a long term fix but I can't wait around for a fix. Hope this helps

          Jumping into the mix here too. Same errors "not enough memory ID 108", beachball of doom, lags when trying to move the most simple shapes. Latest error came trying to open a new document without anything in it! All happens pretty randomly so identifying probable cause is pretty tricky.
