Hi there,

Can't get illustrator working, won't open any ai. files

Uninstalled and re-installed creative cloud and illustrator
Update Mac Book Pro 15" to latest software 10.14.3

Help?

    Please read the complete thread. And answer all the questions that have been posted already.

     

    That TIF is the file you are having trouble with? Illustrator can not make that editable for you. You can only place it. So what exactly is happening step by step? What do you expect to do with this file?

    Hi Sam,

    Sorry to hear about this issue. I hope it is resolved by the steps suggested by Michael. If not, could you please confirm where the files are saved? For example, in Network Drive/System HDD/Shared Folder on System /External HDD? Try saving a new file on Desktop and let us know if that opens or not?

    Try resetting the Illustrator preferences as these can survive a reinstallation of the software.

    How to set preferences in Illustrator

    "Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (macOS) as you start Illustrator. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Illustrator."
