Can't open Exported legacy version 8 files in CC2018

I've installed the latest version of Illustrator CC (22.0.1).

We have to save our cut-files to legacy version 8.

But if i try to reopen those files (eps and ai files) i get an error and the file is empty.

This is only with the latest version of Illustrator on MacOS X 10.13.2.

With files saved 1 or 2 months ago, i don't have that problem

Error message (in Dutch) contains:

Kan illustratie niet openen. De illustratie bevat een ongeldige opgaand.

Onjuiste operator: {eps_metadata_stream}

Context:

This problem is on two different computers with the same OS and Illustrator version.

Anyone else have this problem?

Found the problem. Suitcase Fusion caused the problem.

Deactivated the Plug-in and i can saven and open the files again.

Where do you save the files to?

Normally to the server (Synology NAS), but also tried saving the file on my desktop.

    Doesn't change anything. Same error.

The software of the ZUND cutting-system can import the files, so they are not completely corrupt or damaged.

Link to test file:  Dropbox - Test.ai

I can't reproduce the issue. That is, when I save an AI8 file, it's correct.

But I can reproduce the issue with your file: it shows an error when opening it.

Is your Illustrator updated to 22.0.1?

There has been an issue with saving older files a couple of weeks back, but I don't remember the details.
