Can't place items from Bridge into Illustrator

The place function in Bridge works fine in all other CC Apps. When Illustrator is selected it switches to the App, but nothing happens.

Already tried resetting preferences in Illustrator and have emptied the cache in Bridge.

Illustrator version - 22.0.1

Bridge version - 8.0.1.282

Mac OS - 10.13.3

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. I tried replicating this on my end but was unable to do so. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if they help:

Close all Adobe applications
Remove the Creative Cloud Desktop application, CCLibrary, and CoreSync using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (https://adobe.ly/3XhK9RL)
Reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application (https://adobe.ly/3VHqVUz)
Relaunch Illustrator and Bridge
