Can't save files locally in Windows 10

Illustrator will let me save files only to Creative Cloud, but not to my local machine or local network. It throws an "Unknown error occurred". I've seen this discussion for the Mac version, but this is happening on my Windows 10 machine. Some Mac users said they could save if they disconnect their second monitor, but that doesn't work on my machine.

I also had to exit Illustrator and do a Ctrl + Alt + Shift restart because it didn't recognize my network share that all other applications can see. And did I mention bounding boxes appear only sometimes, even though the View menu shows they're supposed to be visible?

Running version 26.0.2. Is this a beta version that got released by mistake?

I'm using 26.0.2 on a Windows machine and can save to my local hard drive.

Saving to a networked drive or removable media isn't supported, though:

Illustrator support for networks and removable media

If your bounding box disappears, go to View > Show Bounding Box. There is a keyboard shortcut associated with that command. If you're accidentally pressing that combination, you could change or remove the shortcut by going to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and editing it via the Menu Commands dropdown menu.

Thanks, but as I said above: Illustrator is not saving to my local machine and bounding boxes are set to viewable.
