Can't type a space on text on Adobe Illustrator

I am having troubles typing in a space bar on a text graphic. Please help me out.

I've tried reinstalling it and it still doesn't work.

You are calling it a "text graphic". Is it live text or is it part of a graphic?
Is this in all files or just the one?
