Can we animate Illustrator drawings on websites? Any web developers around?

So  I have 2D drawings of industrial stuffs created in Illustrator that I would like to make it as an interactive animation in a website.  Is this possible?  If so, in a general overview, can different components in the drawing be manipulated using code in a website?  with JavaScript maybe?   I want to create trigger buttons that will generate an specific animation for the drawings and make it interactive for the web visitors.

My drawings are made with Illustrator.   Seems like I would need to convert them to SVG and use code to animate them properly in a website.

That is one way. Or, you could build the animation and interactivity in Adobe Animate and output to HTML5.

I might be very interested in this.... I need to find out more about Adobe Animate...

I still want to learn some coding too.... but if Animate will get my project going sooner,  I'll try it ..

This  is not an ilustrator question as you need to handcode in javascript.
