Can we get a Preflight Panel in Illustrator?

More and more designs are being output for production from Illustrator. It would be a tremendous benefit to have a preflight panel (as in InDesign) that allows for checks on various print specifications. As of now, it can be a tedious task. It would be nice to be confident I'm passing print ready files to our vendors.

Consider it!

I completely agree — a dedicated Preflight Panel in Illustrator would make a huge difference. With so many designers now delivering production-ready files directly from AI, having to manually check color spaces, fonts, line weights, linked assets, and bleed settings can get really time-consuming. InDesign’s preflight tools are incredibly reliable, and bringing something similar into Illustrator would help reduce errors and give a lot more confidence before sending files off to print vendors.

This seems like a natural next step for Illustrator’s workflow, especially for those of us who work in packaging, large-format, and print-heavy projects. Hope the team considers this!

Good idea. If you need a preflight ASAP, check out Markzware's FlightCheck:
