Can you put shapes on a path?

I have an assingment for school and im trying to put shapes of letters onto a path that i can curve to a circle

Hi Grace,

I don't think you are being specific enough in exactly what you want to do. Do you want to warp the shapes, do you want to make the shakes go around in a circle shape or something else completely? Depending also how many shapes and so on.

Depending on what you want to do exactly, will also depict the most efficient workflow.

I presume you have embellished the text shapes and that's can't use type text on the path. But you can create a brush for example... So to reiterate, it depends exactly what you want to do.

If you want to do something like this (below) then it is quite easy to create a brush and stroke a circle with it or any other line.

There are workarounds to what you may try to achieve. On a path Illustrator can only use text.

Thus you may have to create a font from shapes (there are utilities that allow that) or else you can try to use transformation or distort command or tools to achieve that.
