Cannot align & distribute anchor points of a path / shape

Hi,

The align panel is not working with the anchor points.

Is this a bug or how I can align them without using smart guides?

Illiustrator does not distinguish between selecting all the anchor points of an object and selecting the whole object. So it is not possible to distribute anchor points within an object with all of them selected.

So why illustrator think that way? it should be flexible enough to do certain opteration to safe time. I am not selecting object as a whole but with direction selection tool I select 3 different anchor points and still the alignment doesn work. It is a bug my friend. Why align panel is so restricted anyway?

I'm not saying it should work this way, just that it does. I doubt it would be considered a bug, because it is consistent with the way Illustrator has always worked.

Hello @Fasih K,

Sorry to hear about your experience. I tried replicating this behavior on my end but could not do so. Would you mind checking if Illustrator also behaves this way with other files? If yes, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) to check if it helps.

Hi @Anubhav M. When you say you were unable to replicate this, do you mean that you were able to successfully distribute the individual anchor points of a triangle with all of them selected? If so, how?
