Cannot copy and paste in Illustrator or from Illustrator

I have Illustrator 26.01 I can not copy and paste, the text defaults to Myraid 12 pt, lines do not copy...I have reset my preferences but it has not helped. I am on a macbook pro with Big Sur

You are not pasting without formatting?

Are you using any clipboard extension in your system?

Any aggressive antivirus that affects the clipboard?
