Cant open AUTOCAD file in illustrator

Hello! im trying to open an acad file in illustrator, but when oi try to open i get an error message. "The opretation cannot complete because of an unknown error. (UNKN). I have made new layers in the acad file. I have saved this as both an dwg file and dfx filem, but none of them will open.

I have the latest version of both AUTOCAD an illustrator, 2018 version. Please help me!

Would you mind sharing more details, like the OS/Illustrator version, the application name/version used to create the CAD file along with screenshots of the settings used, and a link to a sample file after uploading it to a file-sharing service like Dropbox/Google Drive/etc. so I can investigate this further?
