CC 2018 Silhouette Connect plug in quits out when starting up

I have a macbook pro late 2013 running 10.12.6, Illustrator CC2018 and have recently purchased downladed the silhoutte connect plug in. It worked fine yesterday but not today. Have tried: restarting illustrator, restarting computer, and throwing away the plug in and re-installing it. When I select send to connect, the splash screen comes up and it says silhoutte connect in the corner for a moment, then it just goes back to my illustrator document. 

I also tried Illustrator CS6 with the same result
