CC 2019 does not play nicely with others.

I'm testing AI CC 2019 for production work on High Sierra and Mojave.

When I open CC 2015 then 2019 the later will not work at all. Can't even close the app. Have to "Force Quit".

After restarting 2019 it seems to work, but I no longer trust it. Are there known issues with running 2019 along with previous AI CC versions?

Good insights, Monika. I am still on El Capitan at home because everything works!

At work I am encouraged by IT to update to Mojave. All company Mac users are on Mojave except production artists. My task is to see what breaks if we move to AI CC 2019 and Mojave. Right now AI CC 2019 does not work reliably in 10.13.6. If I find a spare Mac I may try Mojave.

The good folks at Quark have some good piece of advice:

This does not seem to be an issue with others on the forum. I'm interested in understanding why AI CC 2019 will NOT work properly on my High Sierra iMac:

When I boot AI CC 2019 keyboard shortcuts do not work, most menu items are disabled and I must "Force Quit" to get out of the app.

Upgrading to Mojave is not an option since this is a "Production" machine and supports many other production artists. I will have to test on a "spare" Mojave iMac before updating ANY production Macs to Mojave.

This leads me to ask, "What do others do to test a new System/Software before committing to it"? It isn't like everyone can afford a second iMac just to test.

Personally I have others test it for me. I just watch the forum and then wait until

a - there are no more issues

b - Apple has at least the next system out before I install the previous one.

Of course I never install an uneven system version, such as 7, 9, 11, 13 etc. Never had those. Apple can't get the uneven numbers right. My most advanced system is 10.12. It still works, so why should I update? I'm not that crazy anymore. Back in the 90s I used to regularly have beta versions on my production machine. Don't do that anymore, because these times mac OS doesn't get out of beta until the x.x.30 release.

In case you really want to be a guinea pig: install it on an external drive or a partition such as How to create a test partition for the OS X Yosemite beta | Ars Technica
