CC AI 18 Not loading

After updating to AI18, it fails to load and crashes.  Adobe Tech tried to help but could only get it to work on a Root user. I have no problems with the updated PS or with AI 17, which I have reinstalled. Not sure what is going and can't seem to fix it. I run on W10, Surface PRO2. Any thoughts?
