CC Library Behaving Strangely

Illustrator 29.7.1 - Everything is up to date.

MacBook Pro Sequoia 15.6

For a few months, my CC Library in Illustrator simply would not load. The entire window was blank, refreshing did not work, restarting the program did not work, restarting my computer did not work. I pretty much just gave up on it for a while.

Now, it's back! But, behaving very odd.

  • I have our brand colors saved in our cc library so I can easily change colors in a document. When I have an element selected, typically, I can go over to my cc library and click the color. I want it to change to easily. But now, either nothing happens at all when I click my desired color, or even worse, changes to a different brand color that I did not select.
  • Everything is now showing, our logos, graphic elements, etc - but I can't click on anything. Even when I try to drag and drop a logo from the cc library to my art board, nothing happens.

Other Notes:

  • Does not matter what document I am working on, this is the case across the board.
  • I have excellent internet connectivity.
  • I do not seem to have this issue in InDesign.

Any input is greatly appreciated. I would love to know if anyone else has experienced anything similar because I can't seem to find anything when I search for this online.

Hi @Marley C.,

Thanks for laying out the details so clearly. Since the CC Library is visible but not responding in Illustrator, please start by signing out of the Creative Cloud desktop app, restarting your Mac, and signing back in to see if that refreshes the connection. It would also be worth resetting Illustrator preferences once and checking if the colors and assets respond correctly afterward.

If the issue continues, please try these steps: close all Adobe apps, run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to remove Creative Cloud Desktop, CCLibrary, and CoreSync, then reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop app and relaunch Illustrator. If you still face the same behavior after that, try running Illustrator in Safe Mode and share your observations so we can look into it further.

Looking forward to your update.
