Certain glyphs don't show in Tahoma font when typing or pasting

Hi there,

I'm developing a document which includes translations in the Sḵwx̱wu̓7mesh Sni̓chim, the language of the Squamish peoples. The font used is Tahoma, which is a system font and includes all the glyphs necessary. However, when I type using a Squamish keyboard, the glyphs ḵ and x̱ don’t appear, and the apostrophe above letters (such as u̓ or i̓) is misaligned. The font works perfectly in Word, but pasting to Illustrator doesn’t help.

I was able to basically fix the issue in InDesign by changing the "Language" in the characters panel to Canadian English (from American Engligh... don’t know why that matters), but don’t see that option in Illustrator.

Here is the keymap for the language, for those interested: Skwxwumesh.pdf (languagegeek.com)

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Illustrator doesn't have access to all the Glyphs.

You could report it as a bug, perhaps it can be fixed http://illustrator.uservoice.com

Do the glyphs appear in Illustrator's Glyph panel?

Hi Monika,

No, the glyphs don’t appear in the panel. Do you know if there is a way to reset the font or add them back in?
