Change document's color profile, but reopened doc reverts to previous profile (using v30.6)

Hi, I’m trying to reassign my doc’s profile from Don’t Manage Color to U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) 2, but it doesn’t hold. When I close the doc (after saving, of course) and then reopen it, the profile has reset back to Don’t Manage Color.

I’ve been using Illustrator for decades, and never before encountered this problem. Then again, I rarely create printed docs these days, so maybe I’ve overlooked a step?

(Note: Actually, the issue started earlier this morning in the version previous to 30.6 (30.5.something?). I updated to 30.6 because of this issue, but still experiencing the same behavior.)

@mimi_runswithscissors If you save the file, is the “Embed ICC Profiles” checked in the Illustrator Options?

Aha! Yes, “Embed ICC Profiles” was checked, but what worked was Save As instead of just saving. Thank you, Ton!

@mimi_runswithscissors Good to hear that helped.

After you change the color profile, edit something else in the document, such as draw a rectangle and then delete it. And then save again.

Thanks for your reply Monika. It was still losing the setting, but Ton led me to the solution. Save As instead of just saving. Yay!
