Change text wavy path to a straight path

I'm new to Illustrator. When attempting to enter a text on my document it comes on a wavy line. Thus, the text is also on this wavy line.

I can't find a way to change this like to a simple straight line. What is the solution? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

The reason this is happening to you is that your certificate contains a background of (apparently live) wavy lines (they appear very faint in preview mode but if you go into outline mode you should see them as clear and distinct). When you click with the Type tool it actually clicks on one of the faint lines and turns into the Type on a Path tool. To avoid this problem and still be able to enter the text in position lock the background by either putting it on a separate layer which you will then lock or by selecting the whole background and using the Lock command (command-2 on a Mac or control-2 on a PC). Then when you click on the spot that you want text you will be able to keep it on the straight and narrow.

You type on a path from the background illustration

first lock the background, select the backgound, command 2 on mac  ctrl 2 on Windows to lock the objects then try to write.

also you can put the text on different layer it will be helpful.

If you want to keep the path, you can delete just the text. Then select the path and apply the original color to it.

As far as avoiding the problem in the first place, either my suggestion to type the text away from any artwork and then move it, or you can use Bill's suggestion to put it on a separate layer. Either way would work.

Select the path with the Selection tool (black arrow), and delete it. The type will also be deleted.

Select the Type tool. Away from any objects, even if it is outside the artboard, dlick with the Type tool and type your text.

Select the type with the Selection tool and move it into place.
