Changes to Illustrator CC preferences won't stick

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Creative Cloud. So far, so good except for one thing- changes made to the units preference won't stick. I have tried making the change before creating a new document and after once I've stated working on a document. After I exit the app and go back in, the units revert back to points. I do not have this problem in InDesign or Photoshop.
