Question

Changing unit increment in the control bar

For example, in Indesign, I can select an object, and change its dimensions in increments of 1/16”.

But in Illustrator I can only do increments of 1/8”.

Any way to change that?

I also reckon the question is about changing dimensions of objects.

But it's not clear if it is about numerical input or some kind of shortcut.

Should be clarified by ArtScroll by means of a meaningful example.

agree, but if I understood correctly the OP is asking about changing dimensions not position

    Hi !
Illustrator doesn’t support fractional increments like 1/16” the same way InDesign does.
The step size depends on the keyboard increment value.

    You can change it here:
Edit / Preferences / General / Keyboard Increment

Set a smaller value (for example 0.0625 in for 1/16”).
Then moving objects with the arrow keys will use that increment.

You can change the nudge value in the Preferences dialog box.
