Question

Circular and Polygonal Shapes

Hello!

I would like to know how to make the circular shapes in the two attached images (one of them is technically a polygon).

To be clear, I am only asking about creating the shapes themselves, not the fonts. I imagine that each of these will involve somewhat different methods. I am asking how to make both.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Thomas

Thank you, all, for your answers! I will try out these methods and see how it goes.

Kind regards,

Thomas

Multiple ways of doing this, for the polygon one you can try is using a script called Dup at Selected Anchors wich you can download from this page.

1. Draw the shape with the polygon tool (12 sides) as you want then...

2. Draw the little black circle anywhere (Must be at the top of the stack order)

3 Select both and run the script

4. Done

For the first one you just need a dashed stroke applied to a circle.

The polygon tool should give you the second shape.

In the first one it's about how you get the gaps in the circle?

Thanks for your response.

Yes, exactly — how to make a certain number of symmetrically placed gaps in the circle.

As John said, a dashed stroke could help. Most flexible solution I would say.
