What is the difference you see when using these two? Which on do you prefer?

It depends on what you want to do with htem.

3D&Materials is newer. It can inflate and it's easier to handle. It has nice lighting options and it can make shadows. You can export an object as a 3D file. But some things in it still don't work correctly. Applying certain kinds of labels for instance. Also if you need the result to be full vector, then you need to think twice.
