Hi,

I did Expand Appearance to the rounded rectangle (from Screenshot 1 to Screenshot 2).

Then, I made Clipping Mask (Screenshot 3) but only stroke is seen & fill is empty.

What did I do wrong?

when you expand appearance the result is a group (one filled shape and one stroked shape) use either one as clipping mask

what’s your goal? do you want to clip the background shape behind the red rectangle? if so you need to select both objects

I locked the stroked shape and I got what I wanted.

    Thank you very much.
