Color Settings Default to Emulate Adobe Illustrator 6

I am having a problem keeping my color settings sychronized between Illustartor & Photoshop. I sychronize the setting I want in Bridge, I open Illustrator and it is sychronized to the same setting…good. Then, as soon as launch Photoshop and go back to Illustrator, the colors shift to emmulate Illustrator 6. Then I have to physically go into Illustrators setting and change it back. However, I go back into Photoshop and then back into Illustrator and the colors default agin to Illustrator 6. This is frustrating to say the least. People have had this problem in previous forums, and there doesn't seem to be a solution. I am running all new Adobe CC apps running on a Mac with MacOS Catalina. Any help would be much appreciated.
