Colors change.....

I've seen it happen before but didn't really pay attention until tonight...

I typed out some black text. Placed it near a black vector drawing(imported in). The drawing was slightly duller in color than the text. Text was deep, sharp, crisp BLACK. I startede changing the colors of both items. Choosing a color then coming back to black. Even the text went dull on me when I chose black from the color swatch board....what. the. ..hell? I print t-shirts and I've noticed the prints are considerably duller than my computer screen...yes, I know what I just typed. But you know what I mean....any ideas?

What is your document color mode?

And in which color space do you enter the numbers?

And how is the presentation of black set up in the preferences?

Hi,

Is the method of printing on a T-shirt a spot color silk screen? Or is it an inkjet printer?

A spot color silk screen has nothing to do with the color of the monitor. Only the color of the ink is relevant.

When creating your design, keep in mind that there are two types of black: standard black and rich black. Standard black uses only black ink (100% K), whereas rich black contains elements of other colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow). Because rich black uses more ink, the resulting color will be deeper and more saturated.

Hope that helps.
