Colour Mode - Change to options following roll out of Pantone Connect

My colleague recently showed me that you could change the "Colour Mode" in the Swatch Options of a colour to "book" or something similar. This then presented the colour much more accurately on screen compared to the CYMK mode.

 

However, since the rollout of Pantone Connect (grumble) this option to select book colour or whatever it previously was, has now gone.

 

Does anyone know how to achieve the same effect that you previously achieved by changing the Colour Mode?

This option is still there.

But it only kicks in when there are two kinds of values in the books (which isn't the case in current Pantione books). So when you use CMYK swatches books, then nothing will change, since there are no Lab values present. And when you use spot color books that only have Lab values, then you won't see anything either, because the color management generates the CMYK based on the Lab values of the spot colors.
