Colouring in issue Illustrator

Hi i have a square with some triangles inside (a logo) and need to be able to select the individual triangles in the middle to colour.

Unfortunately whenever i go to use the live paint bucket selection tool the whole boxes outline is highlighted red and i can't go in and select regions. I can't ungroup anything either.

Its a pretty simple problem i just need to be able to select the individual triangles and colour them.

Thanks

use the white arrow (direct selection tool)

the best i can do is click off it but it won't delete even with the white arrow. i found another way to delete it but that made the bottom left triangle faded.

I really need to get rid of that box containing a useless line.

    Hope this info helps. Thx

did you make these shapes in illustrator, or place the logo from somewhere?

then you presumably selected them all and made a live paint group? show a screenshot with the objects selected and the layer panel visible + expanded.
