Colours are incorrect in Adobe Illustrator 2025

Hi, unsure why colours look different in Adobe Illustrator 2025 latest. When I copy and paste an element into another document or new artboard, the colour is incorrect. Please not below barcode where the background should be white but it actually appears grey and the breakdown is also not correct. Any idea on why this may be happening and how to fix it?

Hi @Impression Sandbox,

Thanks for reaching out and for sharing that visual, it really helps illustrate the issue.

From what you described, it sounds like the color shift may be related to the document color mode or color profile mismatch between the source and destination files. Illustrator can behave this way when, for example, you're copying elements from a CMYK document into an RGB one, or vice versa, which can result in unexpected color changes like white appearing slightly grey.

Could you please confirm whether the issue occurs across all files or only when pasting into certain documents? It would also be helpful to know your exact Illustrator version of 2025 (like 29.6, 29.5.1, etc.), macOS version and if color management settings like color profiles are active in either document. You can check this under Edit > Color Settings.

If you're able to share the files (or even a screen recording showing your steps), that would help us reproduce this more accurately. Feel free to upload via a public sharing service or send it via DM if the content is confidential.

Looking forward to your update.
