Compatibility issue between latest Mac and PC versions

Hi. I work on a Mac, and regularly update my Creative Cloud programmes. I installed and use Illustrator 2020. Unfortunately my laser cutting machine can only be operated by a PC, so I have to transfer the ready files over there for cutting. However, the files do not open, the program says the file was saved in a newer version. I have udpated and have the latest version on the PC too, but I am still getting the same message. If I save in other format, like EPS or SVG, the files might open, but I am loosing the layers, and other details. Would anybody have any idea, advice how to deal with this issue?

Thank you in advance,

Agnes

In your makeready machine, save a opy of your original ( as an EPS with a tiff preview suitable for Windows / PC ) or Save As > PDF.  Double check what formats your cutter will interpret.  You could also Export > Tiff.  But, that depends on the cutter's driver or RIP.

You could try the update to version 24.0.1
