Massive compatibility issues with Ai 2025 and 2026 when editing files created in Ai 2024: Editing documents created in Ai 2024 that use the Align function and saving them in a current version causes the programme to crash immediately. Acrobat can then only restore the elements that were on the artboards. The document is damaged and can no longer be opened. Diagrams created in Ai 2024 are no longer displayed after editing the data.

Thanks for sharing the details about the crash and compatibility issue. Could you please confirm if you see the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog when the app crashes? If yes, please submit the crash report and share the email address you used while submitting it via DM, so I can check the logs. You can follow the steps here for reference: https://adobe.ly/4hPptsp. I checked using your community email but couldn't find any reports submitted yet.

Could you also confirm which operating system and version you're using? It would be really helpful if you could share a sample file created in Illustrator 2024 where this behavior occurs. You can upload it securely to Google Drive or Dropbox and send me the link via DM, so I can test the behavior.

In the meantime, please try saving a copy of your Illustrator 2024 file as an Illustrator PDF or EPS, then reopen it in Illustrator 2025 or 2026 and test the Align function again.
