Completely white or checkerboard screen after update

Hi, was wondering if someone could help me with the issue of the background screen. I know how to remove the green guide layer and the overprint preview, pixel preview, and trim view are all off. I can't seem to find out how to get the regular gray background back and save all these settings moving forward.

    The simplest way is to use any document profile other than the film & video preset. It has all these settings on and every other profile has them off.

    This based on "Film and Video preset".

    Use another preset and you'll get your white background.
