Constant Crashes when Dragging Objects in Illustrator 27.2 on M1 MacBook Pro

It is outrageous how often Illustrator crashes, I simply can't get any work done because of it!

Every time I try to drag an item.... click > drag .... boom, crash. Restarting will work for a few minutes, then back to the crashing.

I've rebooted, reinstalled, closed unused applications. Nothing works.

Does anyone have any idea why this keeps happening and then how to fix it?

Version 27.2

Macbook Pro M1

32 GB Ram

Hi @dclevela3130w7,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We understand how frustrating it can be when the app crashes repeatedly, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Recently there was an issue with Wacom Drivers crashing Illustrator. The product is currently investigating the issue.
If you are using Wacom then would you mind confirming the Wacom model & Wacom driver version?

In the meantime, some users have reported success by rolling back the Wacom driver to a previous version, such as 6.3.46-2.

However, if you are not using any Wacom device and still facing constant crashes while dragging an item, then would you mind submitting the crash report by following the steps shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html)? While submitting the report, kindly use the same email account used here in the community so we can locate it quickly. It will help us find the cause and assist you accordingly.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

I do not use a Wacom device and, yes, it continues to crash.
