Question

Constantly relinking to CC library

Is there a reason why I have to constantly re-link assets from a shared CC library every time I open a project on a different device?

Isn't that the entire point of a shared CC library?  So that we can share assets between collaborators and devices?

Even if it's just me bouncing between my desktop and laptop - two devices logged into the same Adobe ID, both with access to the same CC account, and both with updated CC libraries - every time I reopen a file I have to go through and re-link all my library assets.

EVERY.

SINGLE.

TIME.

Nothing has changed.  Nothing has moved.  It's in the exact same place in the library it was last time.  I even have the library panel open before I open the file, just to make sure it has refreshed itself.

Nope.  Still need to relink.

What gives?

Hi @JoeWilson,

Thanks for sharing the details about the CC library issue. I understand how frustrating it is to have to relink assets every time you switch devices. This usually happens when Illustrator doesn't fully sync the library links across devices.

Could you share the version of Illustrator you're using as well as the details of your OS? Also, please let me know if this happens only in Illustrator or with other Creative Cloud apps like InDesign or Photoshop, and whether it occurs with a specific file or all files. A short screen recording showing the behavior when opening a file on the second device would be very helpful.

In the meantime, make sure all CC Libraries are fully synced before opening the file, try using the 'Relink from CC Library' option in the Links panel, and confirm both devices are on the latest Illustrator version.

Please let me know how it goes.
